Hey guys,
Yesterday, i went to supermarket to buy Noodles for breakfast, i came across Mayoora's Kuthirai Vaali millet. I thought why not do breakfast using this instead of usual Dosai, Idly or Noodles. Trust me the taste was awesome!!!!.
Here is the thing about the packaging of these traditional millets products, such as Kuthirai Vaali, Samai, Kambu, Thinai etc, they all come with scary lines like "Diabetic friendly". Yes these are extremely healthy for people with Diabetes. But this line kinda of gave me different feeling like, "Am i too old to buy this, instead of Noodles?". It was like, my husband asking me "This fifth wedding anniversary, Can i book a ticket to Kasi?" All i want to ask is, the reason why? Why these products has to be for diabetic people. Why no one advertises in these packages saying "Tasty, healthy, kids loving, easily cooked within 7-9 mins?"
Sometimes, it is like, i dont want to tell my kid that i am going to cook Thinai for your breakfast, because for sure she is not going to eat it. Most moms dont even use these millets thinking theirs kids wont eat this and not to spoil their kids' breakfast or dinner. This perspective should change.
It is high time, the manufacturers of these products should do something effective to create more awareness and probably more attention towards these products. Especially, towards young people. Young people, bachelors or working women should go buy these kind of millets because these are healthy, tasty and can be cooked in less time.
Ok, here is the recipe for the breakfast i prepared using Mayoora's Kuthirai Vaali.
